FLOPPY DISK SYSTEMS: It is easier to UNZIP files with two floppy disk drives,
although it can be done with only one drive.
TWO FLOPPY DISK SYSTEMS: We highly recommend that you UNZIP these files one by
one. To do this, you must first get a directory of the ZIPPED files. To do
this, place this disk in the A: drive and just type (at the A: prompt):
DIR *.ZIP (and press the enter key)
This will give you a list of files that are ZIPPED. (All ZIP files have an
extension of ".ZIP".) The ZIPPED files can be UNZIPPED by placing a BLANK,
FORMATTED disk in drive B:. For example, to UNZIP the files LABELS.ZIP, you
would simply type (at the A: prompt):
PKUNZIP LABELS B: (and press the enter key)
This will start the process of UNZIPPING. Which can take anywhere from a few
seconds to over a minute on larger files.
ONE FLOPPY DISK SYSTEMS WITHOUT HARD DISKS: Just follow the same instructions
as above. The only difference is that you will have to keep exchanging disks
to fully UNZIP the files. Start with this disk in Drive A:. After executing
the PKUNZIP program, you will then be prompted to put a disk into the B: drive,
which is actually the A: drive. Just take this disk out, and put a BLANK
FORMATTED disk back in, and then press the enter key. Then you will prompted
to put this disk back into the A: drive. This process will be repeated until
it is done UNZIPPING the file.
After the files are UNZIPPED, they can be used. If you don't know who to use
the files after they have been UNZIPPED, just read the instruction sheet on the
back of your invoice. Please note that you may need several floppies to UNZIP
all of the files on a disk. If you get a disk full error, then the disk you
are using has too many files on it. Just start the above procedure again and
use another BLANK FORMATTED floppy disk.
For more information, refer to the instruction sheet on the back of the
invoice. The phone number for our technical support department is on the same
page.
